- Our home has a master bath and a second full bath on the second floor.
There is a powder room on the first floor. The master bath is not totally accessible for Chris.
- The vanities in two of the three bathrooms are 34 inches high.
- These vanities have 28 inches of clearance for Chris to wheel up to the sinks.
- There is space next to the toilet in both of these bathrooms for a wheelchair to fit.
- The second floor bath has grab bars installed around the toilet. It is a safety frame (E6269) that we
ordered through the Sammons Preston catalog.
- Bracing was installed behind the drywall in the first floor powder room for the future installation of
grab bars if needed.
- The bathtub in the second floor bath is manufactured by National Fiber Glass Products. It is model
45 R/LF shower/tub with removable bench seat. It is ADA compliant. The unit already has grab bars in place.
The seat is a non-slip surface. The unit and bench have been easy to keep clean.
- There is a hand-held shower head for the tub that we purchased separately from the unit.
- We tried a roll-in shower in our previous house when we remodeled a bathroom but we often ended up
with water on the bathroom floor so we opted to go with a combination bath/shower.
