  • Chris' bedroom has a hardwood floor without any throw rugs.
  • His room is simply furnished so it is easy for him to navigate in and out with his chair.
  • There is a small table on one side of his bed and the other side is kept clear for his wheelchair at night.
  • Chris has a "clapper" light that he can turn off once he is in bed.
  • We keep a bell on the floor next to his bed in case he needs help.
  • There is also a small sleeper couch in one corner of the room. It comes in handy when Chris has surgery or is sick and needs someone nearby at night. It is also nice in case Chris would like a friend or one of his brothers to stay in his room overnight.
  • Chris has casement windows in his room that he can open and close independently.
  • Chris has a "roll in" closet so he does not use a dresser in his room.
  • The closet has a pocket door for easy access.
  • We put a metal shelf in his closet for folded clothes and socks.
  • There is also a rack with four large knobs for hanging pajamas and clothes that have been worn but are still clean.
